Car Stories: Mike Cavanaugh, “Born to Sell”
Cars are independence and freedom, allowing us to go on a cross-country adventure, visit friends and family, work, explore, and simply take care of our daily needs. From encounters with the authorities to junkyard beauties, early car experiences are funny, formative and become a part of who we are.
Mike gives credit to his interest in the auto industry thanks to his first car, a 1976 Chevy malibu. The light blue car with a blue interior was purchased for a cool $3,500 with just 3500 miles on it. After driving it for the summer he got hooked on the industry when he sold it for much more. Take a listen to our very own, Mike Cavanaugh's car story.

"Hi, I'm Mike Cavanaugh. I'm from Detroit, Michigan, and I am the Executive Vice President at MAX Digital. I became excited about the car business, really the automotive industry, when I bought my first car at 15 years old.
"So I was able to find a 1976 Chevy Malibu it was light blue with blue interior. And I bought it for $3,500 with 3,500 original miles on the car, still had the window sticker in the glove compartment. And I was able to drive that car over the summer and I sold the car at the end of the summer for $13,000. And that was really what excited me about the business and maybe want to really commit to it for the rest of my life."
