Car Stories: Denis Dwyer, "Double Jeopardy"
Cars are independence and freedom, allowing us to go on a cross-country adventure, visit friends and family, work, explore, and simply take care of our daily needs. From encounters with the authorities to junkyard beauties, early car experiences are funny, formative and become a part of who we are.
Dennis Dwyer shares what became of his first car, a 1985 Chevy Celebrity. He fondly recalls the car’s red leather interior and stalling habits. It quickly met its demise when Dennis accidentally hit a police car. His upgrade to a 1986 Buick Regal, also soon met its demise pretty spectacularly. Take a listen to our very own, Denis Dwyer's car story.

"Hi, I'm Dennis Dwyer. I'm the Vice President of Operations here at MAX Digital. I'm based out of La Grange Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. My favorite car story involves the first car I ever purchased, which was a 1985 Chevy Celebrity.
"It had red vinyl interior seats, and it would occasionally stall while I was driving it, in which case I had to put it in the neutral to restart the engine whilst I'm driving. That car met its demise when I was 16 and hit a River Forest police officer.
Then I took the $2,000 in insurance money that I got to buy a 1986 Buick Regal which also met its demise when I made contact with a Chicago Police Department cruiser. So I had the dubious distinction of hitting two police cars in my office early stages of driving. Fortunately, I have not hit any other police cars since that time."
